Films on Demand Streaming Video Collection now available at Barry

The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is pleased to announce the availability of a cutting -edge streaming video collection for use by Barry University students, faculty and staff.  The Films on Demand collectionwith more than 6,000 copyrighted, high-quality educational videos, is now available via the internet incorporating streaming video technology. The growing collection of films is now available 24/7 directly to the classroom, course management system, the desktop, mobile tablets and smart phones.
Streaming video adds a new and exciting dimension to academic learning environments. Many students are “visual” learners and respond very positively to educational media. Films on Demand provides Barry University students access to a huge collection of educational videos independent of location, which means that students in Tallahassee have the same instant access to videos as those in Orlando, Miami Shores, or virtually anywhere in the world.

LibQual+ Library Quality Survey Currently Underway through April 15, 2011

Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is currently surveying the Barry University community
concerning individual perceptions of library service and resource quality. The survey instrument being offered
is the LibQual+ standard survey that is used heavily by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL).
The survey measures patron perceptions of service and resource quality in 22 different areas within the
library. The results will help the Library determine different strengths and weaknesses within the Library
and help inform decisions regarding priorities for program improvement. Emails with links to the survey were
sent to a sample of the University population, with periodic reminders to participate in the survey. If you
have received an email from the Library requesting you take part in the survey, please plan to participate. The survey only takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and is confidential. If you would like more information regarding the LibQual+ survey, please contact Tom Messner, Director of Library Services
at tmessner@mail.barry.edu, or 305-899-4062. Thank you!
